People often say, "I'm not interested in politics."
That's your choice.
But then...
Don't be interested in voting.
Don't question why taxes keep increasing.
Don't complain when petrol and diesel prices become more expensive.
Don't be upset when your children's future is affected by exam paper leaks.
Don't complain about pothole-filled roads, poor public transport, or broken infrastructure.
Don't question why hospitals are overcrowded or why quality healthcare is beyond the reach of many.
Don't complain when government schools lack teachers or basic facilities.
Don't worry when unemployment keeps rising and good jobs become harder to find.
Don't complain about inflation when the prices of vegetables, milk, cooking oil, or other essentials keep increasing.
Don't feel bad when farmers struggle with low crop prices, expensive fertilizers, water shortages, or mounting debt.
Don't question why rivers are polluted, forests are disappearing, lakes are encroached upon, or cities are running out of clean air.
Don't complain about plastic pollution, illegal dumping, or the burning of waste that poisons the air you breathe.
Don't be concerned when fertile land is lost to unplanned development or when groundwater is depleted.
Don't complain when electricity bills rise or when there are frequent power cuts.
Don't question why your city floods after every heavy rain.
Don't be upset when corruption delays your work unless you pay a bribe.
Don't complain when law and order fail or when justice takes years to arrive.
Don't question poor governance, broken promises, or misuse of public money.
Don't ask why your village, town, or city isn't developing while your tax money keeps flowing.
And above all...
Don't complain about the condition of the country.
Because every one of these issues is influenced—directly or indirectly—by public policy and the people we choose to make those policies.
Politics doesn't stop affecting your life just because you stop paying attention to it.
You don't have to join a political party. You don't have to argue online. You don't even have to support a particular ideology.
But if you enjoy the right to complain about the state of your country, you also have a responsibility to care about the decisions that shape it.
Ignoring politics doesn't protect you from its consequences. It only means others will make those decisions on your behalf.
